How is This Guy?

HistorySince 2003, when i started my studies at college, development and technology are part of my life. As student of UTFPR at Cornélio Procópio - Paraná - Brasil, i could develop (among many other things) an experimental adaptive hypermedia system based in any colony optimisation, to help users to find what they need on website.

At that moment, I realised that academic environment could be a nice way for my professional life. In 2010 I started my master degree course at UFPR at Curitiba - Paraná - Brasil, where I finally understand the concept of a famous sentence, that sounds like: “more you study, less you know”. At master degree, I developed an smart scheduling system using planning, to process big data volumes at distributed environment.

In parallel with my academic carrier, could be involved with web development for many publicity agencies. Where I could develop projects for many Brasilian national artists.

Currently, I work as the Head of Technology, managing and establishing processes, translating strategic decisions into software, mentoring and guiding the team, and designing consistent and scalable software solutions.

Profession

Technological stuffs always been present in my life. Still remember my old 486, ant it causes me some nostalgia and worry, because I realize that im getting old. Always encouraged by my father, I have long been interested in understanding how things work. Although I have done several courses, I believe that there is an essential skill for professionals of technology scenarios: your need learn how to learn.

  • BANKME

SEP 2022~NOW / HEAD OF TECHNOLOGY

I led the creation of the technological structure, implementing cross-functional teams to expedite the delivery of features aligned with the company's dynamic strategy. I developed and implemented processes, including onboarding new collaborators, the lifecycle of demands, and the Upstream Board structure.

I established guidelines for code review, card scoring, and repository documentation standardization. I implemented processes such as Remote First, post-mortem analysis, expedites, and mob programming. I created a selection process for technical collaborators and adopted a centralized knowledge tool.

I defined and oversaw rituals such as dailies, technical refinements, card division and scoring, plannings, retrospectives, and produtech. I set tools and development standards, including naming conventions, commits, branches, and API documentation.

I created a guide for roles, responsibilities, and career paths, emphasizing technical skills, deliverables, human skills, leadership, and strategic impact. I supported the construction of consistent and scalable solutions, applying concepts of microservices and database segregation.

I implemented a monitoring culture and applied tools to extract information from backend and frontend applications. I faced challenges such as organizing infrastructure, forming an integrations squad, and synchronizing database projects.

I achieved significant deliveries, such as a 100% increase in performance. I mentored other areas of Bankme in leadership, organization, and processes. Leading a data team, I resolved technical debts and propelled deliveries.

I drove innovation, efficiency, and technical excellence, contributing to the company's success.

    MAR 2023~MAI 2023 / HEAD OF PRODUCT

I had the opportunity to lead the Product team for a short period of time.

We focused on establishing a solid foundation for the department by proposing a new product process.

This new process aimed to improve the arrival of demands, prioritization, and visibility of deliveries.

We also conducted initial work on Personal Development Plans (PDP) with each team member, allowing them to collaborate with me in designing their individual development plans.

By the end of this leadership stint, we delivered a minimally organized team with a clear roadmap vision and established processes for demand collection, prioritization, and execution.

  • PROVI

    MAI 2022~SEP 2022 / ENGINEER MANAGER

At Provi, I had the opportunity to experience the challenges of being a manager in the technology field. As the leader of a tribe, my main initial responsibility was to create new processes, increasing the organization and productivity of the squads we worked with.

I also conducted 1:1 meetings with team members, understanding their key strengths and weaknesses to generate a diagnosis of the tribe and identify areas for process improvement.

With a time dedication of 70% to people and team management activities and 30% to execution activities.

The main priorities included People Management, Delivery Management (Sprints/Burndown), and Recruitment.

An important case in this role was the billing integration system, where I was able to assist in the architecture and implementation.

  • LUIZALABS

    2021~2022 / TECH LEAD

I was able to truly understand what a BigTech is.

I learned a lot about having strategic visions, refining processes, and creating and maintaining cutting-edge technology.

It was certainly a school for me to train my technical skills and, most importantly, my leadership skills.

I acted as a Tech Lead and was able to assist several squads in the MagalyPay tribe. This tribe aimed to maintain and grow the products of Magalu's fintech. I also participated in Upstream phases (refining and preparing features) and Downstream, helping in the construction of documentation, POCs, monitoring, etc.

As a significant challenge, I could certainly mention the construction of the Wallet within MagaluPay.

  • NEON

2019~2021 / Tech Lead and Back End Cordinator

Here, I certainly delivered one of the biggest case studies of my life: a complete digital account specialized for micro-entrepreneurs in Brazil.

In this project, I acted as the Tech Lead of a super-squad, which later transformed into over 10 new teams.

I served as the technical leader, assisting the team responsible for creating the MEI Fácil application, as well as the integration APIs between MEI Fácil and Banco Neon.

I was also responsible for supporting the teams during the stabilization period of this major project.

After the product was delivered, I became the Tech Lead of the Activation Squad, and later of the Onboarding Squad.

  • MEI FÁCIL

2018~2019 / Tech Lead and Back End Cordinator

I'm proud to have been one of the first Technology people to join this team.

MEI Fácil was born with a hands-on spirit! In a short period of time, we became a reference for simplifying the bureaucracy for micro-entrepreneurs in Brazil.

With three main pillars: Business Education, Bureaucracy, and Finance, MEI Fácil has become a super-app to solve a large part of the problems faced by MEIs in Brazil.

It was here that I began my journey as a technical leader.

I helped build a great team and also fostered a technology-driven culture.

I served as a technical leader in several different projects, with a notable focus on the MEI Fácil Account, which evolved after the incorporation of MEI Fácil by Banco Neon.

    2017~2019 / GRADUATION TEACHER

Back as an undergraduate professor, I had the opportunity to teach subjects focused on web development, as well as fundamental courses for computer science and computer engineering programs.

Some of the courses I taught included: Web Programming, Data Structure, Desktop Programming, Integrator Project, Algorithms, and Introduction to Software Engineering.

    2013~2013 / POSTGRADUATE TEACHER

I had the opportunity to resume teaching for the postgraduate course in Java development. During this time, I taught a course focused on Servlets, JSP and basic technologies for Web developing.

    2008~2009 / GRADUATION TEACHER

This was my first opportunity to fall in love with the academic field. Right after my graduation, I had the honor of teaching at the university where I graduated.

During this time, I taught several courses, including Business Programming with C#, Web Programming, Basic Informatics, and Database Integrator Project.
